Normally I hate going to Shaw's, the grocery store closest to me, because they are sooo expensive. I did a price comparison between them and Walmart on most items I usually buy, and not one thing was cheaper than Walmart, even on sale! Most of it was more expensive by at least $.50 per item.

Well, I had to go today to get some milk, whipped cream, bananas, and hydrocortisone cream.

Milk: $2.89
Bananas: $.72
Whipped Cream: $2.50
Hydrocortisone: $5.79
TOTAL = $11.90.

Store savings card... - $.50 on the whipped cream
coupon on the H.C. box: -$1.50

And I got a coupon in the mail for $10.00 off merchandise at Shaw's (or any of several stores). The total... -$.10 !! Too bad they couldn't give me the dime in change. Oh well. And I was good and didn't buy anything that I didn't intend to. That was my most successful shopping trip yet! I wish I got those $10 off coupons all the time!

I am not really familiar with Shaw's prices because I won't shop there for other reasons. I am curious, though. Did you get the $10 coupon from them because of the card and your purchase history? That is one of the reasons they have cards. In which case, have you really saved? You know, the I have to spend in order to save syndrome.
