I picked up some small bags to use for favors for my cousin'swedding, but I don't know what to put in them. They are small bags with a ribbin tie at the top. All that I can come up with is potpourri. The bags are about 4 inches x 3 inches. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You could buy small, smell good soups from the dollar store. They have a whole wedding section you may find other ideas there. You could buy chocolate kisses from the store and buy some special made stickers with the bride and grooms engagement pic on them. I bought some for our wedding favors and they were fairly inexpensive on e-bay. You could also buy some kisses put them in there and just write a little message to put inside the little bags along with the kisses. I hope these ideas help

When I go to showers/weddings I prefer gifts I can eat. I hate when I get something that I know the people throwing the shower or the bride spend lots of time or money on and I do not like it. I feel bad throwing it out. So I would say if you can go to a local chocolate shop and see what you can get for a good buy and put that in the bag. The attendee can enjoy the sweet and then throw out the bag.

I, too, prefer to receive something edible. My dh's family has a tradition of including those candy-covered almonds with any type of favor. It's for good luck.

Food is always good. The simpler the better IMO, but...

If you wanted to get fancy, you could make sugar cookies or something and frost the Bride & groom's names on them.

Or for something different you could maybe put a pen and little pad of paper in each one (I'm thinking dollar store) and ask everyone to write some advice to the bride and/or groom before they leave.

I didn't have a bridal shower, but for my wedding we personalized koozie cups?! It was really pretty cheap... about 64 cents each. Sorry, that isn't much help with using the sacks.... I have been to weddings where they give out chocolate kisses with a note that says "a handful of kisses from the mr. and mrs." Oh, and I have also been to a wedding where they did a "candy bar" that had a bunch of different kinds of candies and little scoops, and sacks with personalized ties. The guests just took whatever kind of candy they wanted in the little bags.... I don't think that would be very expensive, and maybe you could even color coordinate the candies with the wedding/shower theme and colors?! HTH!

I too like favors that won't clutter my house. If you don't want to do candy, I've been to a number of weddings and showers where they gave you voltive candles. Some even used the Yankee Candle "wedding day" scent. I'd get a color that matches the wedding colors from some place more inexpensive than Yankee candles personally. That way, the person can burn the candle, think of the couple and not have anything more to clutter their house or throw away.

Hi Everyone!! Thanks for all of your ideas. I ended up finding Hershey's kisses that were wrapped in red paper (cordial cherries kind). Her color is red. This will go perfect in the bag. And I got the candy on sale for $1.50 per bag!!! Thanks again!!
