Wave Funny Frugal things your family did

hey, i was wondering if you guys had stories of funny frugal things people in your family did or still do...like make kindling out of dryer lint or stuff like that. i'm feeling blue and need a good chuckle.

My friend had to put empty bread sacks on her feet so the holes in her winter boots didn't get her socks wet. She laughs about it now.

Yes, we also had to wear plastic bags, ie bread loaf bags in our "moon boots" when growing up. I have also had my kids do this to get their boots to last another week or two until Spring!!!

I had forgotten about that! We did that a couple times, too. I can't think of anything to weird at the moment, but I'm sure we did some pretty frugal things. We were poor!
