I've been using one of the Thermos food containers that keeps food either hot or cold to bring my lunch to school in. We don't have microwaves to use at school and the student center is a good walk from the buildings my classes are in, so I don't really have time to run over there for lunch. I just have to say that my Thermos container works wonderfully! I've been bringing left overs and today I crumbled up some Ramen noodles, with a little bit of soy sauce and chili oil, then poured boiling water over it and put the lid on. By the time I was ready to eat, the noodles were cooked and it was still hot. Plus, the one I have can go in the microwave in the morning to heat up my food (but be careful, I don't think they can all go in the microwave). My DS will be in kindergarten this year and I've decided to buy a few different sizes of these for his lunchbox. That way he can still have a hot lunch and not have to buy it at the school every day. We will probably let him buy his lunch once a week.

Kelly, that's a great picture! It made my day! :D

I was also thinking of getting one for DS's milk. Why spend extra money when I already have milk, plus we buy organic milk and I'm sure the school won't have that.

These sound great! My DD is going in Kindergarten and I'm kinda sweating this whole lunch thing. Where can you buy these?

The Thermos I remember is from when I was in school and as far as I know they came with the lunch boxes. Of course that was when the dinosaurs roamed

I am thinking of doing the thermos thing this year too. My daughter loves soup for lunch and has been bummed about not having her soup for lunch when she is in real school.

Love the picture too, I am really hoping my hallways are too wide for my kids to do that. The youngest one keeps asking to see the picture of the girl standing on the walls.

You can also get them at Target, but the last time I was there, they were sold out. I'm going to have to check again. And I think you can get them at Walmart, too. But, I did notice the price on the Toys R Us site is a lot cheaper than Target or Walmart were.
