:happy dance: I found it! I have been searching all over the place for a nice wooden vanity for my oldest for either her birthday or Christmas. Well her birthday was over a month ago and I found a nice antique vanity for only $40! And at all places- an antique store - I thought for sure that they would want $100 at least for it. It has a drawer in the middle and 3 drawers going up both sides. The mirror is in great shape and the only thing I have to do is find a nice chair or bench for it. The store had a ton of chairs to choose from- but my impatient scared 3 year old needed to get out of there (it was in their furniture annex and there was tons of furniture everywhere). I don't really need to strip it or anything- I may though- depending on what kind of chair I find for it- I can see doing a shabby chic type thing to it and it would look just as gorgeous!

I drive past this place at least 2x's a month and it never dawned on me until I saw their posting on craiglist (I love craigslist!) for furniture that they needed to get rid of! I was looking at a few other pieces and they are in wonderful shape and of course real wood furniture holds up so much nicer than the pressed wood garbage! I am going to go there on Sunday and look for a nice nightstand for myself (the rubbermaid shelf thing does not really cut it! ) and possibly a nice chest of drawers for DH. BTW- they also do layaway for up to one year! It's a goldmine!

What a DEAL! Do you mind noting where this is? I'm south of you by about a half hour and am interested in visiting --- especially when they do layaway for a YEAR!! If you don't want to name it here, you can send me a PM. thanks

PS I didn't think anyone else had a rubbermaid nightstand!

They are called Red Chimney Antiques. They are in Warrendale/Wexford area on Wallace Road (northern top of Allegheny County). They are pretty easy to get to- just let me know if you need directions!
