So what frugal things have you done this weekend?

We did not go very many places, mostly stuck around home and watched alot of racing on tv.

I have been stretching my groceries so that I have not bought hardly any groceries since last month. I will shop again after the 15th (payday!) I did really well and we actually still have quite a bit left!!

I would be frugal and turn off the air and open the windows since it cooled off outside, but dh is not home and I can't get the dang windows open

We drove to Spokane (2 hour trip one way) to see a dinosaur exhibit. Along the way we passed several yard sales and for the road they sure looked good! But my husband and I agreed that we would not stop as we really didn't have the money and we most certainly didn't have the room for more stuff!

Besides our exhibit we also only visited Target (where we did pick up a couple of things) but we by passed the Borders, Barnes and Noble, the mall, and Costco! And I didn't visit a single Starbucks! Surely that counts for something!

The boys won prizes but I still have to pay him cash!

As a gift to my cousin I paid my hairdress friend to do her hair (she just had a babY) I went with her over there and my friend cut my hair as well with no extra charge (free for the referal).

All 4 of us had dental appointments on Saturday and had good checkups so no follow up appointments are needed there for saving us money! Plus the cleanings are 100% covered by insurance.

We went to our Church's family night on Friday it was at one of the member's house. They have a pool, so we ate and swam and just had to bring a dish to pass. Saturday we visited my dad's new place and ate pizza while DH helped my dad move some stuff in. It was a pretty nice weekend. Sunday after church we just relaxed.

My weekend was somewhat frugal- although I spent money! My favorite local consignment shop is going out of business and I got a ton of things for under $20 (got both my girls clothes- finished youngest dd and got her clothes for next year, I got my oldest a shirts and capris and jeans for next year, I got my youngest a pretty comforter set that came with a curtain and a bag of books for $2 for the girls for Christmas:happy dance: ). I got my haircut for $6.99 with a coupon and my big frugal thing was that I went to the dollar store and only spent $6:happy dance: ! I think it was on here that someone posted about them having decals to decorate a room- I go fairies for my youngest (which matches her comforter) and flowers for my oldest.

I worked both days this weekend, and also brought my lunch. I didn't even buy any of the yummy candy or anything where I work!

We have been on a mini vacation on a very limited budget. We took the boys to a free museum and they had a blast, then we splurged and played putt putt golf for $20, which was cheaper than going to the movies and on Saturday my oldest son wanted to go to the movies and we explained that we had been on vacation and we would have to wait until next weekend to do the movies, he didn't like it but got over it. Then on Sunday after my sons' open house at school we were straved and instead of stopping at Mc Donald's I came home and made lunch. So I guess I was frugal this weekend.

Have a great week!!

I cancelled our Dish Network subscription! Yikes! We never watched it, most of the time when we are use our tv it is to watch a movie or play our Super Nintendo (we've fallen back in love with it!).

Eventually, we're either going to get DSL or Netflix. We're waiting a while until we actually need some sort of indoor entertainment. We could even get both for the same price as what we were paying for Dish - about $40 a month! :happy dance:
