We are planning a garage sale this weekend, if I get off my butt and get busy!! I have never had one at this time of the year, but we did so well at ours in the spring and we still have so much stuff that we would like to get rid of. Is there anything that is special about having a garage sale at this time of the year? Do they go over as big as spring ones or are people tired of them? Can I make enough for my groceries for the next month?

I think people are looking for VERY good deals on summer/spring and are switching to fall items. I just don't have time until scholl starts so I'm out of luck until then.

I think garage sales in the fall work well. Base your items on what season it is. Sure people will buy things for next spring/summer but they will also be looking for deals on things for the fall and winter.

We are having a sale this fall because I have a ton of sweaters and such to sell and knew they would do better as the weather cooled off some. Hard to think of buying a sweater when its 110 degrees.

We had a early spring and a late spring yard sale. Gearing up for another one later in the season. However, we always wait until mid/ late Septmeber for our end of the season sale. Things get to busy right now,. back to school, last bit of vacations, labor day, not to mention it's frickin' hot outside at this time of year.

We wait until mid September and always do fairly well. The gardening stuff doesn't sell thou in the fall, like it does in the spring. Other than that, we've done just fine. One year we waited until the second week of October and I think that was a bit too late in the year as we made 50% of our spring sales.

good luck
