I can't figure out why you had to go to Dollar General for crackers after going to the 3 other stores. Aldi has great cracker prices.

They don't have the variety of crackers that my boys like. Family dollar has them all for $1 a box.

My husband and I went to Aldis on Monday, and spent $217 on groceries our goal is to make this last for more than a couple months, we were fortunate to have some food I've been buying when on sale through the summer. But I think it can be done. I like a challenge. There are 4 in our household.

I shop at Walmart mostly, sometimes I go into aldi for things , but DH likes the brand nane and yes he can tell the difference, I have tried other cheeper brands. But with how hard he works (14hour days) He deserves the stuff he likes.. I spend about $40.00 at walmart with coupons.

I am lucky. the farthest place I go is sams and it is buy the bread outlet. we only go once a month even if we run out. otherwise aldi's is the farthest and they are 15 min drive.

I'm trying to shop only 1x every two weeks, but have already been to the grocery store 1 time this week to stock up on milk, yogurt & ice cream... not sure how i spent $20 though! I try to stick to $200 for 2 weeks, thats for 6 of us. My husband got a new job, and gets paid every other week, i hope this new plan works out for us.

I hear you. On the average of every two weeks, I frequent: A high end grocery for stuff I can't get anywhere else; Aldi's; Marcs (deep discount for brand name foods/fruits/vegetables; Trader Joes, Costco, Nature's Bin (natural and organic food store); and I fill it all in with trips to Panera for their baguettes, a bakery for their frozen balls of pizza dough, um, I think that's it. Whew. I'm exhausted just typing all that.

Great job though!! I don't do Aldi's as much as I used to, because it seems all their cookies, crackers and baked things have partially hydrogenated oils in them and I don't buy those anymore.

What I want to know is...how do you shop with all the kiddos? I forget to hand the cashier my coupons, can't do the math to see if I'm getting a good deal, my list gets eaten...my little ones are so distracting. This may seem like a parenting issue, but it's costing me Money, too! I want to know your secrets!
