Anyone interested in a sticky thread where you can post how much you saved by doing something frugal: how much you saved in coupons, ECB at CVS, buying store brand over generic, shopping clearance rack, etc. Then at the end of the month you can total it up.

deemom- that is a good idea!

I was also thinking about doing a days without spending challenge! I almost went out everyday this past month to get one thing and I want to get back into the habit of becoming a house troll and saving money!

How about...

How many things can you DO in Sept to SAVE money in the future? Or fix something around the house that's currently costing you money?

Like...winterize windows & doors, organize stuff so you don't keep rebuying it, set up a snack/juice bag in the car so you don't grab fastfood when truckin' the kids around, get the long-overdue oil change for the car, inventory the kids' winter clothes so you only buy what's needed, make up a bunch of simple birthday & thank you cards already return-addressed and stamped, so you don't buy expensive ones at the last minute...

come to think of it, I should start Sept with this as my to-do list!

Or.....

How frugally can you decorate your house for fall? (and share ideas

Or.....

Re-do a room completely on $0 (what's that show called?)

Re mix is what you are thinking of. Thought they do some of that on design on a dime to

I guess the big problem is affording to fix the things that are costing you money. I guess I really don't have a todo list, decorating for fall is a matter of pulling decore out of the closet and I don't have a room I really want to re-do

I still like the idea of adding up how much your shopping strategies saves.

I love the idea of a September challenge! I was thinking of trying to do as much as possible with the kids for either free or low cost. Parks, hikes, gardening, borrow movies from the library etc.
I want to really keep all spending to a minimum, the holidays are right around the corner!
I also want to go the whole month without eating out or grabbing a coffee!
