I had a front loading washer that used the He. I bought it for the first couple weeks and switched back to mountain breeze purex. Never had a problem. That was the liquid though.

You can still use it just use half the amount and not use it for every load. Just use it a little at a time until its gone. I have been useing regular detergent for a year and a half with no problems until now. My machine broke and the repair man said that it could be becuase I was useing regular detergent , the machine has to spin harder to get out all the suds and over time that can wear out your motor. bummer , but atleast I was smart enough to spring for the extended warrenty so I wont have to pay the 389.00 for a new part.
Anyways I told him I only used 1tbls of soap and he said that was fine but just dont do it day after day. Funny thing is my manual says I can use regular detergent and its doesnt say anything about possible side effects.

I agree.. go ahead and keep using the regular soap.. but use 1/4-1/2 of what you use to use. HE washers use much less water so you can get away with much less soap. When I got my front loaders I went ahead and bought a box of he and every couple of loads I used that.

You can still use the powder, just not the full amount. Use maybe 1/4-1/2 the amount until it is gone. I did this and just used what I had until it was gone.

I have had my frontloader for over 3yrs and have never bought the HE detergent. As others have said, I only us about 1/2 to 1/4 of what I used before. This makes your detergent go a long way! I don't buy detergent very often now & I have the luxury of waiting for those rock bottom sales because I'm not always running out!!
