I love seafood and whenever I find one in our store over here I ended up paying $10.99 for a pack of shrimp. Yesterday I bought two packs and it cost me $23.00 I was a little upset but at the same time when you are pregnant and craving certain food you have to have it. Even fish fillets are $4.00 and there's only three of them in a pack

Yes, its expesive. I bought 1 1/2 pounds of haddock the other day - cost me $14! And my kids even like it. They have expensive taste too - they like shrimp, salmon, lobster, swordfish....

i bought crawfish packs yesterday for $11.99 each, and they were one pound each....my crawfish etoufee cost me $26. I was a bit peeved. Of course, even though they aren't "seafood" they are still priced that way.

Do you have a Trader Joes near you? They have a pretty good price on Shrimp. The Raw kind and pretty good size just cook it up with some Old Bay and Yummmmmmmm.

I buy my seafood frozen at costco. Yes a bag of salmon felets are spendy at $17 or $14 for cod but it lasts us for 4-5 dinners. Really if we went out we would be paying the same price for one seafood dinner for just one of us.

It depends on how you use it no I don't serve it to company but for DH and I it is very reasonable.

I always look for sales. Our favorite is Tilapia, which you can sometimes find for $5.99/lb, but 1 pound with a salad and some cooked veggies makes a great meal and feeds all 5 of us. I found a great deal on frozen Tilapia the other day. $1 per fillet, and they were pretty big fillets.

Seafood is usually a special treat at my home. But I do get the occasional Halibut fillets at the farmers market or shrimp when its on sale.

We have a fish market - we buy baby hake, which we de-bone and fry, or cook in a soup mix. Fish is one of our cheapest meals here - as long as you are clever about it. We have fish once a week in our house, but we do try for twice in a week.
Thankfully I'm not bothered about any shell fish as I'm allergic to that - so it does help the budget some.
