Gosh i would have no idea what the prices might be on any given day. I can tell you the prices that I buy this stuff at. If it's not at that price I don't buy it.
Just like the fact that I will buy strawberries at $1 a pound int he summer, but would never consider doing so at $5 a pound in December.
Likewise we only eat organics on some stuff and I haven't had plain white bread since I went to camp in the summer as a child, so have no clue as to what that cost might be...
State: Colorado
Milk (gallon): On Sale - $3.29 gallon - Organic Valley Brand
lb of butter: On Sale - $1.75 pound - Horizon Organic (Bought 12 pounds on Tuesday at this price - the store generic brand was another .50 more a pound)
Loaf of plain bread (ww or white): - Have no idea - It has high fructous syrup in it, we don't eat. But bought natural ww bread on Tuesday at $2 a loaf on sale
apples (per lb) - Free - we glean in the fall from the orchard down the road. Store in the cellar and when we are out for the year, we are out.
oranges (per lb) - $1 pound in the winter. Only buy when it's in season at this price point. If it's more expensive than this we don't eat.
We believe in eating in season and eating as locally as we can. We are far from perfect in this, we always have bananas in the house and I know they get shipped way more than 1,000 miles to get to my store.
