We have an apple orchard/pumpkin farm 35 miles south of here. We spend a few weekends in the fall there picking our own apples and on one of those weekends we get our pumpkins too. We usually have a coupon every year for the orchard...4 pumpkins for $20...and these are big pumpkins- it's also a great experiance for the kids. Last year we got two of the "white pumpkins" and painted them with clear/glowing paint. That was pretty neat!

We started a tradition last year with my sister and her boys. We took them to a little farm in town. THey already have the pumpkins picked and they range from $1-$25. They have all kinds of hay bales set up and dressed and it is really cute. We tried going to the apple/pumpkin farm and the line was so long that we tried this and it is sooooo much better! I think they even have a maze that we might try this year. This will definately be an every year thing!

We actually get our pumpkins for free- my dad's brother lives near a farm and the farmer gives him pumpkins to give to us! However we do go to a pumpkin patch every year- we usually will buy little pumpkins for in the house and do the picking our own apples, get the last of the fresh vegies and do the normal pumpkin patch things!
