Do you buy them at the grocery store, Walmart, or Target where they are generally cheaper or do you buy them from a pumpkin patch for the experience of it? There is a farm not far from us that has a corn maze, outside acitivites, farm animals you can see and sometimes touch. Each year they sell pumpkins as well. We usually go there and make an afternoon of it. Girls also love the hayrack rides. Pumpkins cost abit more, but they love going to the "pumpkin farm' as they call it. All the other activities are free so it is well worth it for us.

We've actually found it to be cheaper at the pumpkin patch or farm type stands than at the grocery store or walmart. They seem to be nicer looking pumpkins as well!

they are definately cheaper if you buy them here at walmart or home depot but we suck it up and go to knights pumpkin farm last year it cost us 50 bucks for 3(two good sized and 1 small for dd who was a baby) pumpkins but heck out kids had the best time ever so it was well worth the money!!

We take the kids apple picking and pumpkin picking at the same place. We usually go the fist or 2nd weekend in October. I'll make apple pies and caramel apples with the apples, and we'll carve the pumpkins, usually a few nights before Halloween. I also try to find a couple small pie pumpkins, and I make pumpkin puree/pie filling. I think last year we spent about $65 and we got at least 12 pounds of apples, 4 carving pumpkins, and 3 small pie pumpkins, and lots and lots of pictures of the kids having a blast!!

A local church sells pumpkins as a fundraiser. They have 100's of pumpkins, the kids love to pick out their own pumpkin.

We go out to the pumpkin farm/apple orchard every year and pick our own. They have a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and lots of other activities. We have so much fun! It's a family tradition we hope to continue even with our grandchildren.

Usually my son will have a field trip to this farm here in the city and he gets to pick one and bring it home. If he doesnt do that, we just go buy one at the store.

I usually get a couple from the 100 year old guy at the farm market. His pumpkins are least expensive. My grocery store usually gives you a free pumpkin with a $25 purchase, so I tend to get a couple free ones there as well.
