hello, i went on a first date yesterday, and it went very well, so we are planning on seeing each other again. the only problem is he is a doctor of micrbiology, and makes good money... and i make 20,000 a year. now normally this would not bother me... but right now i have no money, and i feel bad making the poor guy pay for everything.

can you tihnk of cheap or, preferably, free things we can do together? i'm not used to the whole dating thing either... like we went for a long walk along the beach yesterday and ended upgoing for dinner.. great food great place, but like a modern woman of today i offered to pay for myself. just wondering if he would think i was putting him off if i suggests JUST a walk, no dinner?

so give me some ideas ladies.... i know walking is fun, but i dont want it to be the only thing we do cause i'm poor lol. any ideas would be great!:happy dance:

Plan a nice picnic and pack some homemade foods that you made.

Go for a hike. Do you have good trails near you?

A long bike ride.

A matinee movie is usually pretty cheap.

Miniature golf.

I'm an outdoorsy person so for me it would be fun to go hiking at a park and then maybe a picnic lunch or if your not so into that maybe a poetry reading at a coffee bar. I really don't know what you like to do so maybe these things wouldn't work for you. I'm just trying to brainstorm.

Spend the afternoon at a local cultural festival or farmers market.
Drive In movie
Go to the arcade and play all the fun games you used to play as a kid like Pacman, air hockey, etc. Lots of laughs....bring your quarters. DH and I still do this one every once in awhile.

or let the poor guy pay for you! I'm not opposed to you paying your way, but this early, I'd let him pay for things if he doesn't mention otherwise. Even DH's friends would pay for me if it were just us somewhere, like when my DH's best friend (my sister's boyfriend) came with all of our family out to eat, and Dh was out of town, his best friend paid for ME!! Always does in those situations,e ven though I tell him not to! MOst guys appreciate paying for a woman, but I do admit that Dh paid for me when we were in high school, because he worked and I did not. When I started working, we would alternate everynow and then.
But if you think you really would not want him to always have to pay, you can do cheap things, like renting a movie, getting some ice cream, vegging on the couch!! Those are my faves, usually all in one night!
