I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who starts chopping for Christmas early. My relatives wait until a week before! Can you believe it? Too stressful if you ask me.
My 4yo is done, and I already know what I am buying two of the others but the 17 yo is the hardest. She changes her mind too often. I told my older two that this year "Santa" is only spending $250 each so they need to decide what they want. My oldest was ticked off at me for that low of an amount and asked why so I told her," We are working our way out of debt and can't afford to spend a fortune this year, and I cut up all the credit cards so I wouldn't have to spend all next year paying for Christmas." I refuse to charge Christmas this year!!!!!!!!!! We usually only buy them 3 gifts each anyway, one large, and 2 small gifts. The problem with it was they were picking expensive items for all 3. This year I thought I'd just set that dollar amount. If they spend it all on one item, so be it.
Does anyone else have a budget for Christmas? I spend $30 each on nieces and nephews.
