I agree with most of the other posters.
We are also tying to dump heaps of money off our mortgage to have it paid off within 5 years.
That and travel.

We spend less and save more because we have BEEN in the "too much debt and too little savings" boat before! It was the worst feeling, knowing that no matter how hard you work and how much you do, you cannot seem to ever get ahead! I never want to feel that way again!

Everything you said...except the part about consumer debt. We don't have any of that...other than our mortgage and our 0% interest loan on the van that will be paid off this spring.

I just want to spend our hard-earned money as wisely as possible.
