For all of you currently following some kind of financial or budget course, what program do you follow or have you followed, and why do you like it? Currently considering a few, and just want some insider tips. Thanks!

I've heard great things about Dave Ramsey and Crowne Financial Ministries, though we haven't tried either. Good luck with whatever decision you make!

yes, Crown Financial is the way to go for sure. Its all about doing it God's way and every thing is 100% biblical. I cannot tell you what taking that class has done for our finances and our marriage. It got us on the same page with finances, we used to fight about $ alot. Financially we were out of 2 of our 5 debts within months. Its strict but when you do things God's way, we believe He will honor you for it. It talks about everything from being honest in everything, having integrity always, how we view work, tithing, giving, budgeting, retirement, investing, the future, debt, etc. It was an amazing study/class. You get lots of ideas dfrom others in your class on ways to save money too, which was always fun to share. And the best part was you had a handful of people you could count on to be praying for you, for anything. They have some great software for managing money too.
www.crown.org will tell you where you can get in touch with someone for a class. Our church offered it fortunately. i know at least 40 people who have taken it and they all say it's 100% life changing. For the good, of course. Dave Ramsey is awesome too, he'll challenge you in areas you didn't know you could be challenged in. =)

It'll kick your butt but you'll get out of debt quicker and be MUCH more responsible in how you soend your money. Hope that helps.

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is also Bible based and was offered at our church. It is a 13 week course that covers insurance (life health home etc and how to get the best rates), investing, budgeting, giving, retirement, saving for college, getting bargains etc. It is fabulous.
