A lot of the things mentioned I do. The only one not mentioned is: have a phone with no bells/whistles. I have never had caller ID or call waiting so I don't miss it. You really can live without it. We have an old fashioned answering machine, too.

Wow, Great tips. I do a lot of those, can't think of anything I do that's not already listed.

Great lists!
Some of the things that make my friends/family/neighbors roll their eyes
1. line dry clothes whenever possible
2. use coupons all the time, not just if I happen to think of it
3. plan my grocery shopping trips -- lists and corresponding coupons
4. rarely pay full price for clothing (or anything else) unless it's an emergency
5. pack a cooler of snacks or meals for long trips

My neighbor lady catches rain water in barrels and uses it to water her flowers. She keeps the barrels out in the open, away from the gutters and downspouts, i have read somewhere that rain water coming directly off a roof can carry stuff from off the shingles that is bad for plants? Anyone know of this?

Agreening with what others have said--

only plug in microwave, etc. when in use
fill large shampoo bottle with travel sizes from hotels
menu plan
bring snacks and drinks for trips
be veeerry selective about menu choices (what is on sale)

Things I have always done though-

Line dry wash

Turn heat back , A/C up - I don't need to be COMPLETLY warm or cool - DH Hates this BTW.

Buy all clothes/shoes on sale or at discount stores such as TJ maxx or ross - I find it silly Not too.

Pack a cooler of snacks /drinks for short and long car trips.

I do so many of the things listed by all you ladies.
A few others...
We do not have a house phone...just cell phones..no need for both
Dh does as much mechanic work on the vehicles as he can w/out taking them to the garage
Have used only cold water for years when washing clothes
cut my dryer sheets in half
don't buy many books....get everything from the library
goodwill, yardsales and thrift stores is where most of our clothes come from.
NEVER buy anything for full-price...NEVER
always pack small cooler w/ snacks and drinks
don't waste gas...always have a list
when eating out...always have a coupon or kids eat free/ never order sodas..what a rip-off
Lights off in the house during day and generally as much as possible
there are probably many more.
It is just my nature to be this way...I have never liked the idea of wasting $$$ and I hate it when I see others do it.

I don't go shopping unless there's a reason for it

I bring my own lunch to work

I wear my clothes until they're worn out
