I'm not really big into it but I am a big fan of regifting gift bags and tissue though. If I thought I could get away with it I would do the wrapping paper as well!

I don't see anything wrong with it. I regifted most of the boy stuff I got when my baby ended up being a girl

Sometimes I'm given items that just make me go "What i the world?!" So those go into a box and I try and later match them to someone I knowwould really love them, such as three christmas romance DVDs my grandmother sent us last year. No way we'd ever watch them, we're action or anime people, but someone on my list this year loves the books they were based on, so... perfect gift for her! And the two will never meet or anything, so it's all good. That's part of my criteria, other than the person having to like the gift -- never give a gift you've gotten to someone that will know the original giver.

I have re-gifted. The first time or two I felt bad for doing it but I figure what's the difference in returning the item for the money and then using the money to buy another gift for someone versus just giving them the gift (if I think it's something they would want and enjoy). Isn't it the thought that counts?

I will say that I've gone through the guilt of only spending a few dollars on a gift when I know that a friend of mine spent a lot on my kids presents. We have four kids but a few couples we know only have one each. So if they spend $10 on each of mine, that's $40 bucks so sometimes I feel like I should spend at least that much on their one child but I don't think I ever have. Again, it's the thought the counts, right?

We have regifted & see nothing wrong with it as long as the two folks don't know each other. Actually, I have one friend & our rule for Christmas gifts is free or re-gifted, but no money spent.

On a side note, my s-i-l actually re-gifted to one of my boys a gift I had given her son the year before!! I never said a word to her, but I got a good laugh out of it!!

Call me cheap:

A friend got me a wall hanging(artificial flowers) with gift receipt - I went and returned it and got a 3 piece canister set out of the same money and gifted it to her.

lol! that is awesome! The only thing I have regifted is a couple of dr seuse books that we already had copies of. Luckily my inlaws didn't write something in them, and when she discovered we already had them she pulled me aside and said, go ahead and give them to someone else. So I did!

I have no problem with regifting. The issue I have is people who don't make sure you get a gift reciept for stores that require a reciept for a return. At my baby shower I got 2 outfits for dd from K-mart. All I wanted was to be able to exchange them for a different size that would be more likely to fit her in the correct season (which I knew they had them in stock & full price as I looked before I tried). They wouldn't even let me do that with out a reciept! I ended up keeping them, she wore both once before it got to cold. Grrrr.
