I usually don't shop at dollar stores, but I stopped in one the other day to get DD a puzzle. She is 3 and likes the more difficult ones that are anywhere from 48-100 pieces.

I had been to Target and their selection of those size puzzles was pretty poor as well as each puzzle being $3-$4.

Anyway...They had some really nice 100 piece puzzles with a Halloween theme as well as some Character puzzles with about 63 pieces. She was thrilled with Strawberry Shortcake as well as the Halloween one she picked out.

Who knew?

I also picked up some packs of holiday foam stickers that had anywhere from 140-200 stickers in the package for $1 as well. My dd goes through stickers like they are going out of style so it was a nice find for me.

What do you all buy at dollar stores?

What do you find are truly good deals vs. items you can get cheaper elsewhere?

I always get my coloring books and activity book from the Dollar stores. My son just started Kindergarten and loves math, so I've gotton many addition books, and reading books from there.

I only have a Family Dollar store in my town. I have picked up good things for the kids. I found some nice Little People workbooks for $1. My five year old loves to do workbooks and will finish a whole one in a day sometimes, so to only spend a buck isnt too bad. I am thinking that I will hit the dollar store this year for stocking stuffers or filler gifts for christmas and the kids birthdays (2 in Jan and 1 in March). I have found good deals on name brand cleaning products. And it is the only store in my little town that carries my laundry detergent.

When I had time to scrapbook, I bought a lot of my scrapping supplies there. I've also bought coloring/activity books, as well as the educational work books too. I use more gift bags, it seems, for birthdays and showers, etc. than gift wrap, so I buy them at the Dollar Tree as well. I usually get stuff for the little treat bags for the kids' birthday party there too!

I love the dollar tree. I get my shampoos, conditioners, body wash, kitchen tools, teeth whitening gel, kosher salt, roasted red peppers, and I could go on. I really love it because it is next to the salvation army and family dollar is just down the plaza. I make a day of bargain shopping.

every time I go in there, I pick up a pack of diaper disposal bags. I think there's 100 in the box and they're scented. I buy aluminum foil, picture frames, seasonal decorations, candy and snacks. I actually just bought my son a puzzle there the other day.

My husband is a mechanic and I buy him something called Goop at the Dollar Tree...he uses it to get the grease off of his hands. I also buy him bars of Lava soap, again, to get the grime off of his hands. I don't know if a dollar is a good price for either of them, but it's the only store I've been able to find them at

I also buy food storage bags and greeting cards there, as well as some cleaning and health supplies.

I also get most of my gift wrap from there. I like their coloring books and I often will get my son a balloon from there, just because. They have character balloons and he loves them. For the buck they last several weeks and then my 2 year is happy!
