I recently got a source of A LOT of inserts every week (20-40...sometimes more) so I just put most of them in a database. It takes me about 25 minutes every week to enter them including the date, insert name, and expiration date as well as the coupon information. I do use a binder when I clip free coupons and items I know I usually see as unadvertised store specials as well as meat coupons since I usually buy the marked down meat instead of the weekly meat specials. I have to actually have the coupons with me at the store. Then I rubberband the stack of inserts and only clip the coupons on an as needed basis. My stockpile is pretty well established so I usually only end up buying 2-5 items a week...just multiples of the same item. I go to my grocery store ads online every Wed. morning and compare sales with coupons in my database to decide what I need to buy. I would estimate it takes me 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours every week to do all the legwork including entering into the database. This does not include actual shopping time.
