What frugal things did you do this weekend?

Here are mine:

1) Did my monthly grocery shopping and came in under last month
2) Went in to work this morning for my pt time job (got called in)
3) Got out the tubs of old Halloween costumes. All four boys found things to wear in there, so I don't have to buy any!
4) Installed our new programable thermostat
5) Worked on putting more plastic over windows.

Took my lunch to work both days.
Parents gave me the coupons from the paper.

I had a birthday party to go to today for a coworker and friend of my husbands. Instead of buying a gift and a card. I made a card from American greetings. I get it free through my mom's membership. I already had card stock. For the present, I knew he liked to cook especially for the kids. I put some of the oatmeal pancake mix in a container with a lid ( that I got free in a box from freecycle) and the container can be used in the kitchen when he is done. I put it all in a gift bag that I collected from my son's birthday party this past spring.

I needed a floor lamp, and I got it from someone on freecycle the same day as my post. I also got a few items to decorate my kitchen with.

I also got half of a payment for a friend of ours buying our second frig and pool table.

I am a happy camper.

Friday and Saturday weren't too frugal, but I made up for it today (Sunday) by not leaving the house. ALso, didn't even get out of my pj's til 20 minutes ago for a shower..lol. I did do some laundry this evening in our brand new energy efficient front loader washer and dryer. Loving these things!

Resisted eating out all weekend (it's my biggest downfall on the weekends...)

Filled car up at Costco instead of the gas station (saved $.14 per gallon!)

DS wore cloth diapers most of the weekend

Hmmm... Well, Friday I took some left over chili out of the freezer, added another can of tomatoes and a can of beans to it to stretch out for dinner. I think that is it. I had to buy food & supplies for my sons birthday party, and had to spend about 75 dollars. I wanted to cry. I did leave out the table cloths to save a couple dollars.

DH took the boys fishing most of the day Saturday. The only cost was minnows.

I did the monthly shopping with DD. We came in under budget by using coupons and lots of store deals. I bought printer ink, too, which has a rebate that I've already submitted along with my Walgreen's rebates. I filled up the van because I earned cents off per gallon at one of the grocery stores.

That night we attended a fall festival at my aunt's church. They had pumpkin painting, face painting, inflatables for the kids to play in, a cake walk, and bean soup & hot dog supper. Oh, and karaoke, too. Everything was FREE! Plus, they sent the kids home with goodies bags.

Sunday DH took the oldest DS fishing. They kept their catch, and it'll make a great supper later this week.

I submitted a low bid on a piano at church (the church got a new one and they are doing closed bids on the old one). Rumor has it that I'm the only one interested in getting it. I won't know until the 28th, but I'm hopeful as I'd love to have a piano here at home.

I made a double batch of chili for supper so I could freeze some for later.

Our fire department had an open house this past Saturday. We met a classmate of DS's (and his parents) up there. The boys had a blast. They climbed on the fire trucks and ambulances. The firemen did a demonstration with the jaws-of-life. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Sat, not frugal at all, went to wedding AND had to pay a babysitter, but we needed a night out desparately! Sun, stayed home all day and baked snacks for the week.

Making Halloween decorations and posting stuff on kizoodle and craigslist to get some credit or cash to get my dd's some shoes/coats.

I didn't eat out on Saturday. Sunday, I really wanted a Frisco Breakfast Sandwich, so we went through the drivethrough and I only ordered the sandwich instead of the combo. My DH waiting until we arrived home to eat. He's so frugal. I also spent some time online printing coupons to take shopping this week.
