I do occasionally, usually not more than $5. I think I have convinced myself, I am gonna buy myself 2 or 3 pairs of pants that fit. I am 5'2 and am tired of not having a nice pair of jeans. I will find a good deal, or nice pair at the thrift store and they never fit right. If I say I am going shopping for myself, dh just says yeah right you will come back with stuff for everyone else.

what about consumable things? Do you eat out (not expensive places) when you go shopping (for groceries or necessities) or grab a coffee somewhere? I guess the real reason for this post is that I get to go groc. shopping by myself tomorrow (mom taking the kids) and I was gonna stop by my sis's (she lives about 45 min. away where I shop) and grab a coffee somewhere. This is cheap, I'm thinking days in advance of buying a $2 coffee. lol just wonder about these things sometimes.

I rarely buy myself new clothes, unless my hubby gives me money and says, buy some clothes. That happens at least once a year.
If you are talking about consumable items, I will by myself a burger or iced coffee, but usually when I am with someone, I don't go through the drive thru when I am by myself.
I used to only buy makeup when I had a good coupon. But now that I am an Avon lady, I buy at least one new item a month.

I have been better about buying myself a few items lately. Even hubby said yeah to that. I am now thinking about starting to scrapbook with my girlfriends. If I do that, I will be buying some things there.

Of course! I don't have kids!
Seriously, though, I buy when the seasons change, so here in Texas (since we only have hot and hotter), I really only buy myself new shirts and shoes twice a year. I usually buy DH things then too. We don't go overboard, probably less than $500 a year. I've never bothered to add it up, but I don't shop every month, maybe every other of every third month, for a new shirt here and there. And when I lost enough weight to drop a pants size, I bought two new pair and broke out my old ones. When I have the money to blow on myself, I sometimes find it hard to find things I absolutely love. But when we have children, I'm sure that'll drop a little bit, we will see.

ETA: I guess I should add other things I don't mind spending on myself. I too, will tend to stop at sonic every few days for a fountain drink, they have the best ice. Happy hour is 3-5, so if i go right after work, i can get a large soda for less than a dollar.
I also go to the tanning salon on occasion, so I buy 10 tans for $20, and since I usually don't go all ten times a month, it's cheaper than spending $25 for a month of tans.
I am also about to start getting my nails done again, since we wont' have to spend hundreds of dollars a month on credit card debt anymore.
I don't limit myself to things that I want, within reason. If I want a candy bar, I buy one; if I want a soda, i buy that too. We aren't so tight that we can't afford those tiny luxuries.

- Clothes? Yes, when needed! Sometimes when not!
- Fast food/drinks? Sure, I try to keep it cheap, but lately I've been buying myslef a drink everytime I do the grocery shopping. I figure it's my reward for the next hour or so of work that I'll be doing trying to find the best deals!
- I play soccer and have to pay for the season (although my shoes are about 8 years old).
- I scrapbook and used to spend money all the time on supplies! My SIL liked to and it's addicting. Now I only spend money on the pictures I order from ofoto & then papers, etc as needed on the crop night!
- Stuff for the house - Absolutely! This is my weakness! Ok, I'm not constantly buying things, but this is what I spend my birthday money on! Funny, DH and I both get birthday money, his goes to clothes or music, etc - Stuff for him! Mine goes to a new ceiling fan or bathroom towels, etc - Stuff for ALL of us!

Since my husband and I went to a single income I always feel guilty about buying anything for myself but sometimes I will splurge and get a nailpolish or lipgloss, or maybe a shirt or something if it's on clearance. But with a new baby it just doesn't happen very often!

I rarely buy things for myself too. Although, my splurges come from Starbucks most of the time! I will buy a new shirt here & there. But nothing major.

For the most part- I am the last person on my list in order to get anything! Although I will admit that I tend to spend about $10 a month on myself- that includes a magazine and maybe something small like a lipgloss and maybe something hygenic I need (I am a lip gloss junky!).

Actually when I went shopping at Target the other day to pick a a few Christmas presents- I did buy myself a cute shirt on clearance for $3.28- it was a cute short sleeved hoodie shirt that will look cute with a long sleeve layered underneath and it looks "conservative" enough to last a few seasons and a few years.
