More often than not, I spend more money on the kids. However, when I'm in really good shape I spend a lot of money on clothes. Two months ago I reached my goal of losing 20 pounds and ended up spending at least 1k on new clothes over the course of a month and a half. Then I gained some weight back and guess what? Not so interested in buying clothes. I told my husband he can either have a slightly chubby wife who is good at saving or a skinny one who is good at shopping. He said he'd take the chubby one.

I don't spend money on myself for no reason - I am not an impulse shopper and I always shop with a list and stick to it.

Where I spend on myself is with things I need, but in higher quality. For example, I buy only Bare Escentuals makeup. I have to order it online, and it costs more than big-box makeup like Covergirl, Maybelline or Neutrogena, but I love the look, feel and coverage of it.

Also, I buy organic or natural products whenever possible. This means a lot of Burt's Bees soaps and lotions, and Tom's of Maine deodorant and mouthcare products. I spend $5 per deodorant for example, but this is healthy (no parabens) and is a splurge for me, so I feel like I am spending 'fun' money on myself.

My husband also does not spend money on himself for no reason. I just got back from a vacation I had been planning for months and had gone with a particular budget of food money and fun money - I wound up spending my fun money on gloves/hats/warmers dh will use this winter for work!

The day I found out I was pregnant I stopped thinking about myself. It was all about the baby. He's 12 weeks old today and whenever I go shopping it's for him or my husband. Very rarely do I ever buy something for myself.

Recently, though, since we paid off one of my credit cards I decided to treat myself to a very nice hair cut. The rest was spent on my son and husband, lol.

Yes, I do. I buy whatever I want. We are not in debt, we budget, use coupons, my kids have all they need, so does my husband. So I figure if I really want something and it is reasonable, why not. I buy a lot of books. I usually go to second hand stores, or occasionally I go to doubleday book club and get some.

I bring my own coffee from home, I think it tastes better and I know how it was made and what is in it. This is a treat to me seriously.

I buy clothes whenever I need them, and I shop Old Navy, Target, Kohls, inexpensive places. I would never go into Younkers, Macys and drop $500 on clothes. I think $300 a year for me and my boys is what I spend pretty much at Old Navy.

I do spend on myself. If we really didn't have the money, then no way would I spend it. However I work full time and go to school full time, I have to keep myself happy somehow and a fun book to read here and there and a nice shirt is a treat!

I hardly ever buy myself things, right now I'm in desperate need of a new bottle of Clinique Happy perfume and a haircut. I wish I could be so carefree that I could throw down $1,000 in a month and a half on myself some clothes. But even if I had money like that I doubt I'd spend that much.

I buy myself stuff at the thirft stotres. A chocolate bar at the grocery store, craft supplies at the craft store (learning how to knit). I bought myself a membership the the rec center ($150 a year), I get a good quailty haircut once a year, buy a hot chocolate at Starbucks a few times a year.

I went on vacation with my mom over labor day, bought myself a fun hat and a sweatshirt as well. Going to buy some fleece pants and a new sleepbag soon so we can go winter camping this year and me not be cold.

So yes, I buy myself stuff all the time.
