This might not be the right forum, but don't know where else to put it. Do you ever spend money on just you? I know I don't usually, but it seems that we (women) are the last people we think of to spend money on, which is a good thing sometimes. I feel badly spending money on myself, but others don't think twice about it. So, do you spend money on yourself? If so, how often, and what's the limit? Stupid question for someone on a budget as a lot of us are, but just wondered what everyone else does. FYI: I spend maybe $5-$10 a mo. on myself, if that.

Sometimes! I don't know how much or how often. It depends if I need something or not. Or if I see a great pair of pants at the thrift store for $1 or so, I will buy them. I tend to buy myself candy bars more then anything else

I agree with you.
I usually go window shopping and have a cartfull of goodies both for myself and my family.
When checking out nears, I dissect all of my findings and put A LOT of them back.
I get satisfied just thinking that I can buy them or that I can afford them.
Those are the simple pleasures I get and once in a long while, if the sale's too good to pass up I indulge and do it.

I have recently been spending a little more on myself...realizing that I too need some new things every now and then. Of course it all comes from Goodwill or yardsales so it's not really new...just new to me. the funny thing is...I am THRILLED w/ those purchases...I don't have to spend a ton of $$$ just maybe a 2 dollar shirt and I love to buy (cheap) candles and house plants. That is what I buy for myself.

I was just complaining to my dh the other day about having holes in my underware! He was like go buy some! It's not that we can't afford it but sometimes I do have a hard time justifying the purchases.

I very rarely buy myself anything. Even if I have "spare" money-yeah like that ever happens. But I use to get money from my mom or mil for christmas or my birthday and they would always say go get yourself something. But I never did. I always figured it was more important for the kids to have something-not that they are hurting for clothes, toys or money. but that is just me. Anymore, I do not get money as gifts because everyone knows I will not spend it on myself. which is fine with me. both my mom and mil do really good jobs at picking stuff out for me.
But I must admit that I did recently buy myself some clothes. Until than, I had not bought myself anything for over two years. So I broke down and got two pairs of jeans and three shirts. It was not anything on clearance or at a thrift store, but it was all on sale. I really needed it since many of my clothes since I wear them for so long before replacing them, they all had holes in them.

I never think of myself to buy for.I always think the kids need jeans, shoes or what ever and I always come last.Well so does my husband. We both do it by choice. Now little things I do splurge on soda,a new purse clearences for $5 or something like that but not much usually it is if I need it really.By choice...

I do buy things for myself. Not all the time, but I figure that i'm usually so careful with money that sometimes it's ok. Like, tomorrow, I plan on checking out the advertised $1 jar candles at Kroger, and if I like some of them, getting a few. I love scented candles. And over the weekend, found some fantastic clearance prices on pants, which I really, really will need this fall. Of course, if they don't fit once the baby pops out next week, I'll return them, but meantime, ony felt a litte guilty getting them because it's hard to feel too guilty when you really DO need something, and can afford it, AND get it for 75% or more off.

I rarely spend money on myself. I think of what I could buy for the kids with that money. When I do it's usually clothes from Goodwill or books from a used book store.
