I know that there has been many posts about how to reduce the stress around christmas and how everyone shops early so on and so fourth ......

But is anyone with me..... I LIVE FOR THE CHRISTMAS RUSH...... maybe it is becuase I am only a mother in the pregnant sense and do not have to yet take out kids on Christmas shopping excursions. I may buy here and there early for Christmas but I aboslutley love to get all of the Black Friday flyers and make a saving game plan and I love the hussle and the bussle..... For me it would not be Christams if I did not go out into the stores at least 3 weekends during the holiday season and fight the lines and hear the sounds, and smell the smells I LOVE IT.....

wondering if I am weird, crazy, or does anyone else like this also

I know what you mean ! One year I had all the presents bought early and I was so bored and itching to go, I did end up going out and picking up a few extra small things! I like being busy...but not crazy busy!

I'm with you! I am organized and usually start shopping for gifts and decorations mid-October, but I always go out several times that last week before Christmas and of course on Black Friday. I really feel that Christmas Spirit and a sense of community, sharing the happy panicking and scramble for last minute gifts with all the latecomers. And it gives me the chance to say, "Merry Christmas!" to everyone I see!

I don't think your weird. Personally, I can't handle the rush. I don't like the lines and crowds. I'd rather find a good deal online. I've been doing my Christmas shopping online since I was introduced to the internet over a decade ago.

I love Christmas too! This year, I have all our presents put together for dh and both kids.. and ds has already picked out something for dd.. going to take dd today to look for ds. But I won't take the kids to look for daddy until after black friday. I know tha dh likes to wait until the very end.. so me doing the bulk of the shoping way early works for our budget.

The only reason why I have hated the rush in the past is durring the years when I haven't gotten anyone anything early and have very limited funds to do it in december. Last year I almost had a nervous breakdown because I didn't get anything early, and dh was injured early in december.. thus having reduced wages all month. Some friends realized that we wouldn't have many presents under the tree, and rallied to supprise us with gifts.. and then we were nominated for a spot with the local VFW post for help with presents. So, we went from only having pajamas under the tree (I was only able to do that because I purchased the flannel a few years earlier and hadn't used it yet) to having so many presents we didn't know what to do with!! We got so many things that we NEEDED.. that we felt really blessed!

I love Christmas shopping. We usually have to wait until the last minute. I love being in the stores, but I hate being stressed. I am hoping to get a little done each week, so there is no rush. But, if I am all done shopping, and there are still a few weeks left, I will still be going out in the crowds, if only to window shop, have a coffee and listen to the music and watch all the people.
