We are planning on me changing to a PRN status as of Feb 1. This will essentially make me a SAHM. I will only be required to work one 8 hour shift every 90 days and attend mandatory meetings. Well, I have begun making the changes that will enable us to do this.
Today I called different people and I saved:
-$40 on cable by canceling the extended cable
-$5 on my cell phone bill (I changed to the cheapest plan they have)
-$9 by canceling the Wildlife Explores series (this has been one of those things we just didn't think about)
________
$54 per month total!

We also paid off a credit card yesterday! And hopefully another will be paid off tomorrow.

Dh and I were talking as well and we've come up with a solution to help me spend less when shopping. I'm going to work on getting a price book together. Basically, I will make a couple of "shopping" trips where all I do is input info into the price book.

Thanks ladies for all your support!

The price book is a really good idea.

I added a self imposed price point. A cost per ounce that I very rarely went over. I looked at the cost of mostly convenience foods and moved the more costly items to a list that I will buy only for a splurge, not have around all the time.

Gradually, I changed the way we eat until it was nutritious, cheap and still tasty.

Good luck!
