Now that the weather is turning colder, and hanging up clothes outside isn't an option for some, do you hang them up inside to dry? Do you use the shower rod, drying rack, or do you do what we did and strung up rope in the basement laundry room?

I generally use the dryer at this point. I hang up some clothes (on hangers) on the shelf in my very small utility room, and we do have a drying rack that we use sometimes.

I do, I hang them up on a drying rack in my laundry room. I also hang them on a rod that is hung in my laundry room, I try to use the dryer as little as possible. The only thing I put in the dryer are my towels and jeans.

Yes, I dry almost all our clothes this way. I wash them and then put them in the dryer for about 10 minutes. Then I take them out and they all go on hangers. I do have a line in the basement that I can use, but I tend to just use that for rugs or quilts. The clothing goes on hangers and then I hang it in our guest bedroom's closet, which is virtually empty. Then the next day, I take it all down and put it away. Nothing gets crispy, it's all very much wrinkle free. Works for me!

In the old house, I did have a line in the basement at one time. But I think it broke too many times. Hubby didn't like things hung up where people could see them. Now everything is on one floor. I might try that during the day when he is not home here, to see how it goes. They say it makes the house feel warmer in the winter and you don't have to turn the heat up as much. So, bonus savings!

It is very dry where I live so hanging things to dry inside is absolutely no problem. I have an extra shower curtain rod in all my showers and over each bathtub. I just take items out of the washer and hang them on a hanger then on a rod. This is so helpful both in the summer - swimsuits and wet towels - and winter. When guests come I just remove the extra rod.

Unfortunatly, I hav to use the dryer. We have the room to han things, but they don't dry very well, since I don't let the heater run much, and it takes so long tat theclothes get little black mildew spots. We've ruined a few things this way, so haveto use the dryer makes me sad because I rather like my stiff towels, I love that exfoliating feeling for the first use or two before it softens. Also seems to get more water out of my hair.

We hang them inside in the winter and outside in the summer always. DH ran 2 clothes lines in the basement area at the new house and we hang most of the clothes down stairs. I try to only do laundry on the weekend so no one ever sees them and the lines have slip knot ties so I can drop them when company is coming over.

We have a drying rack upstairs but it just does not hold enough. In a pinch I use the dryer.

We have a very small apartment but I have a retractable line that stretches from the corner of one room through the door to the corner of the next room. It it still less than 20 feet and doesn't hold a full load of laundry. So what I do is do two loads of wash in the laundry room but as the dryers tend to overheat, I pull out what will dry on the line and then put the heavier things into the dryer. So I wash two loads but use only one dryer load. At $1.25 savings a couple times a week, it has already saved me more than the $5 I spent on the line.

I hang our clothes on drying racks in the laundry room all year long. I usually put them in the dryer for about 10 minutes to get the wrinkles out and then hang to dry.
