I had really good luck this year at Children's Place. I got DS a button down plaid shirt and blk. cords, DD a red turtleneck sweater and a plaid headband that matches DS's shirt , blk cord skirt all for a total of 35.00. My older DD has outgrown that store so I found her a simple black sweater and hairband for 22.00 at JCPenney. I will get their pictures taken, and they will wear these outfits on Christmas Eve, as well as anytime they want after the holidays.

As others have posted, I start shopping as soon as the Christmas clothes start going on clearance. I don't like to pay too much for them because they will only be worn a few times. DD's dress came from a consignment store when they marked dows their winter clothes this past spring. I think I paid $3 for it. Ds I started to panic because I couldn't find anything. I finaly found a very nice plaid button down shirt on sale at Kmart for $5 last week. I will pair it with some dress pants he already has and I am done!

One place to look is Tuesday Morning. They normally get some really nice outfits and they don't always sell so they will mark them down. That's where we got ds's outfit for last year and we only paid $6 for it!

I look at consignment stores, thrift stores, or yard sales.

Most of these items were only worn once (usually for pictures or church), for a very short period of time and are like new. It is silly to pay retail prices when I can pick things up for a couple of dollars secondhand.

I really luck out on this one! As part of his present to me and the girls, my dad buys my girls their holiday dresses and pays to have their picture taken each year for the holidays (this also being Easter as well). Can't beat that- especially since I feel I have enough- that is a great present that saves me a ton of money!

We buy matching holiday dresses at Costco for $18 each. They would go for $60 in Macy's. After Christmas I let the girls wear them for dress-ups, to church, for tea, whatever they want. I want to get our money's worth.

I got so lucky this year. I found an adorable dress for my daughter that was from a great local shop in town for $4. The items from this shop wash up great, so after doing that, it is like brand new. This dress would have been $40 easy somewhere else, plus is is nice and warm. My son, not sure what I will do with him this year. He wore a sweater vest with a plaid button down underneath it last year. I am thinking of just putting him in the button down this year. Will see is I find anything else I like better.

I found a Ralph Lauren button up top for my DS at a yard sale this summer for $.50. It's a small plaid print, in red, green and black, so it'll be perfect for Christmas pictures

Grandma's on both sides go crazy for this stuff. I just let them have their way and send lots of pictures in all the outfits, so they know I used them all!
