I DO! I love Dave! His advice is straight-forward even somewhat obvious, but really is a kick in the pants if you don't do it!

Just reading his book got me SO motivated to get rid of our debt (including our house)! I LOVE the idea of paying for a car with cash! It'll be a while till that is a reality for us, but it has changed my whole way of thing! Changed my priorities! Even helped with my spending - I (usually) think twice before buying something now, before I didn't!

I know a lot of people (including myself) have tweeked his ideas a bit since we don't want to follow his advice 100%! I for one didn't pull out our 401k matching, but if we had an EXTREME amount of debt I think I would!

I can't say enough about Dave! I got 2 of my sisters hooked (still working on my younger sis)! I've also got a couple of friends on board! Everyone who has read his book on my recommendation has LOVED him and said he's changed their whole way of thinking!

I say go for it!!

Oh, by the way, I have "The Total Money Makeover" and "Financial Peace" and I would recommend TMMO! FP is good, but TMMO is more of the Step-by-Step instructions! JMO, though!

You should be able to get TMMO from the library for free for a few weeks... might take a bit of time as their are often wait lists on his stuff.

DH & I are taking the Financial Peace University class at our church right now. It's great! The kit on Dave's site is around $150. Churches get discounts I guess because we ordered it through our church (before they decided to offer the class) and it was $96!

He is easy to listen to (it's audio CDs) & well worth the money!

I suggest you go get it at the library- you can get all the info you need out of it in 3 weeks time or so. I've never felt the need to buy it. There is also a delphi forum called no more debt that you should check out. They are ALL Dave ramsey followers.

I LOVE LOVE the theory of Dave Ramsey- What I didn't like was all the bible quotes in it, and how the money related to the bible. Being that I'm Athiest, I didn't feel that it was necessary to make those sorts of references to re-inforce his beliefs of no more debt.

That being said however, I STILL love his system the best of all. I found that I could easily ignore the religious part, and take away the financial part and apply it to my own life. I've been doing Dave Ramsey for a year now. I am now on step 3 - it has worked better than ANY other system I've ever used. Very enlightening, very eye opening. VERY educational. It's life changing. Requrest it from the library pronto.

Remember to get the book from your local library.
