I think that is a very nice and yummy idea. I am a teacher, and I truly do not expect parents to bring me a holiday gift. A card that says thank you is plenty. I am a mom too, and I know how expensive it can get without adding me to the list. That said, consumable stuff like paper, pads, pens, candies and treats, are very appreciated...better than keychains and stuffed animals IMHO

As a former preschool and Sunday school teacher I loved receiving homemade candies! Last year we had the same problem with all the teachers and leaders. We made chocolate drizzled pretzels. Super easy and they were a big hit. All you do is buy a large bag of miniture pretzels. Drizzle with melted chocolate and white chocolate. If you wish you can sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy cane.

Thank you to all the teachers for responding to this post! I have always given a Tupperware container filled with homemade goodies to all my kids' teachers, but after reading another post about people not eating homemade goodies I was reconsidering. I always figured that even if they didn't want to eat the candy or cookies, they could put it out when guests come over or they could share it with the rest of the staff. They would still have the container to use for themselves even if they didn't eat the food, but I hated the thought of it just being thrown away.

While some people do have a personal policy of not eating anything homemade because you don't know for sure where it came from, most of the teachers where I worked would have loved something edible. Even if they didn't eat it themselves, they could serve it at their own holiday gatherings. (No working mom one has enough time to make everything she wants to make.)
Something else really appreciated was a personal note. Not just a Merry Christmas card, but, something that shows you know what role this teacher plays in your child's life and you appreciate that.

I searched for a post with this recipe, but couldn't find it.
Kellynkay, can you post it again, or PM me with it? Always looking for a good bulk recipe!

Thanks!

I used to work in a school and I can't think of one teacher that ate anything that was homemade from a student's home. You just don't know. I'd go with homemade cards or something else consumable but edible. Sorry to burst any bubbles.
