They're not my favorite places but for electronics and DVDs or CDs they're the way to go. I even bought my bike at one and have eyed some jewerly in the past. I don't look for them, my husband does that, but I have to admit they have some pretty good deals sometimes.

That said, I know there are a lot of areas that shopping in a pawn shop isn't always considered the safest but that isn't a problem where we live.

i don't personally but my fil goes every saturday and makes the rounds he has gotten us some great stuff... we got a new mountain bike still had the nubs on the tires for $75.00 we researched it and found out it origanally cost 550.00. so there are good deals to be had when people need cash.. he calls us all the time to see if we need or want certain items he loves getting stuff for cheap the only problem is when we try to pay him if we want something he won't take the money.

We have lots of pawn shops here. I've looked at musical instruments and power tools there but don't buy either of those items frequently. Bikes are usually a good deal at pawn shops but, again, we don't buy them enough to make it worthwhile to shop there often.

I have never been to one, but I think I'll check one out this week. My friend from school owns one and she always has awesome stuff! For example, they had a castle jumpy that they let us use our Fall Festival- it was perfect and saved the PTA tons by not having to rent one. She said people pawn EVERYTHING

I do not really like pawn shops myself. But dh loves them. It is a great place to get cd's, dvd's and electronics. Dh got us a 36" (?not sure of the size, but it was a big one) tv that was still in the box for like $50! It was like a Sony or some other good name brand. We had that tv for about 12 years. They are worth checking out.

I just recently found out how pawn shops work

I have never been in one.

Knowing my overactive imagination - I would be afraid to buy anything from one of them.

People don't always want to pawn their stuff - I would be afraid that person would know I had their precious item and come after me to get it.

Never mind me
