I ran across this article this morning on MSN. And I enjoyed one of the woman's comments about changing her attitude on money.
I was wondering, how do you / did you change your attitude towards money? Or even did you have to change your attitude towards money? And how did you get your husband to join you in this attitude change?
I was an idiot about money. I remember going through college and telling my friends that I was waiting for my husband to come and fix my money woes! I truthfully didn't have that many but that was my thought process. Then I met my husband, a man with many wonderful traits, though money handlings wasn't one of them. We dug ourselves into a hole and a half and then some! About the only thing we didn't do was file bankruptsy.
What happened was we returned to my home town and lived with my parents for a bit and it didn't take them long to realize that we had some money issues. I don't remember exactly what she said, but she sat me down and pretty much said, "Fix this now. And we shouldn't be living like this." And then I told my husband what she said and it about killed him to know that my mother (who he loves) spoke out against us. It was a slow process but we turned things around.
