we always have green bean casserole the ingredients are so cheap this time of year. we also do a party potatoe with cubed potatoes sour cream cream soups onions green pepper and cheese. they don't cost to much...and we always have a macoroni salad of some sort.

To keep things frugal, don't over-buy. Keep the serving size in mind and don't buy too much food. Also, make fresh foods instead of processed foods. Make your own whipped cream. Make your own pie crust. Make your own rolls. Yes, it is more work but the improved TASTE is worth it and it is easier on the pocketbook.

I make pie crust from scratch.

My kids favorite thing next to the dressing is Carrot pineapple salad.

one bag of whole carrots (i peel and finely shread) it must be finely to taste the best
1 can of pineapple tidbits
a sprinkle of sugar
rasins (optional) but put them in as you are ready to eat

Combine carrots, pineapple, some of the juice, and sugar together

Chill and serve.
