i have taken my ***check card**** out of my wallet and left it on my desk from now on!
i am on a cash only system.

i took 240 bucks out of MY banks atm this morning (not another bank which charges me 2 bucks a pop) for food for the month. im not sure if thats too low of an amount so im sure after a few months, i'll have the hang of this cash envelope system.

i have 500 saved up in our emergency money and have begun getting clearance stuff for xmas presents already so december doesnt create a disaster...

hope this goes well - wish me luck!

You go girl. Dh and I redid our budget on Thursday and we are now up to 8 envelopes. You'll be amazed at how much you won't spend. I went grocery shopping on Sat. and I had coupons for things that they had on sale but I looked at the items and thought " do I really need this?" NOPE!! SO....I got about $90 worth of groceries for $38.50! (after sales and coupons).

It is becoming more and more of a game to me!! Let's see how much left over we can have at the end of the month!

Good for you. We have an entire budget listed out on paper, which includes what to pull for cash, what to keep in the bank for bills, etc...and then if any is extra (!), we have a list of where to apply it! We do NOT have our $1000 saved right now...but we are getting there. I am proud of you, Kelly!!

Good for you Kel!
It is a great system, tough at first, but well worth it!
