Picture People (that place in the mall that does pictures) is running a special right now for 30 pictures for $6.99 with the coupon they have in the paper this week (at least here anyway). We usually go there and then take the pictures to Walgreens where you can do a zillion things to the picture for a few cents, including christmas cards.

We usually get professional pics at Flash Portraits, it's $$$ but they always do such a nice job and are so much better than the other places we have been. The holiday cards are a bit $$ so I usually try to take a pic of the kids with our digital camera and get a photocard from Shutterfly or Target. This year I am attempting making our own holiday cards...

I actually made the investment in a nice professional style camera this past June. So we had our neighbor come over and take our picture in front of the tree. The quality on our camera is excellent so they really look nice.

I use JC Penny's each year and use the coupons.

I too like the $8 JC penny package but I went with a friend who is a photographer and ordering them through costco isn't too bad my photo cards are costing me $30 to get them printed and they would be much more through a studio

I used to take the kids to Sears for Christmas pictures, but once they started school, I stopped. Now, I take their picture, usually in front of our Christmas tree, and then have 4x6 copies made, that I send out in our cards. I don't usually do anything other than the reprints, unless one of the grandparents wants a larger size, etc. Last year, I got some 5x7's of the kids with their grandpa (FIL), and framed them for his birthday...he loved it. I usually spend about $25 on pictures for the holidays. This year though, I'm not sure if I'll do the picture in front of our tree, or possibly outside, so we can include our new puppy, Lucy. Decisions, decisions....

I save money by only getting one pose. You can usually find a good deal on packages of the same pose, but if you get extra sheets of different poses, they charge between $10 and $15 around here, per sheet. This year, portrait innovations (new to the area here) sent out a flyer with their holiday special.

I got:
1 - 10 by 13
2 - 8 by 10
4 - 5 by 7
4 - 3 by 5
32 - wallets
6 holiday photo cards

...all for $9.95 -with no sitting fee. Plus they were ready in 15 minutes so I didn't waste time or gas to go back and pick them up. I figured it out and I couldn't even print out all of that pictures that they give for that price. The service was excellent and the photos look great. I'd check it out if you have one near you.

Portrait Innovations is way awesome!!! Their special is great, and you are allowed that price once a quater. So,for us it works out great. We will be doing a picture of both kids in January, pics of christopher in april (his birthday), pics of Jessica in July (her birthday) & family pictures next fall.

My best friend has had pictures taken of her family in Indy, Texas and up here in Oregon.. She loves the consistancy of pictures that have been taken over the last couple of years. Not to mention that it is so much easier to get a cute picture of a baby/toddler when they take 40-100 pics to choose from!!!

I take the pictures myself and then order them through snapfish and winkflash. I bought a expensive camera to save money on future pictures.

We take the pictures ourselves or by a family member. I also print them myself as it is a 40 min drive or longer to a Walmart or someplace to get them printed etc... It is just less of a hassle to do it my self versus driving to order and pick them up etc... This time of year the hassle factor is very important in my household!!
