Remember that in the next few weeks specialty items like ducks, geese, lamb, pheasant, etc. will be reduced for quick sale at your grocery stores.

Keep an eye out for deep discounts on meat items that were overstocked and are getting close to their sell by date.

Last year I got a nice lamb roast, large ham, and duck for almost nothing. These are items I don't usually buy or had never tried because I didn't want to spend a bunch of money and be disappointed.

Stores will keep doing this until after New Years.

This is a good tip. We always have goose in the freezer but I would love to try a lamb roast some day and that is exactly the reason why I don't buy one. Because I feel like I would not like it or make it wrong and then waste the money.
