I have always used cash. There is no other choice for me. Maybe people should look at it that way. If you don't have the cash, then you can't afford it. Last year, I totally didn't have the cash. The kids still got gifts. But we couldn't buy any adults any gifts.
Our bills are less this year, so I am hoping we will be able to do ok. I have saved up some points for giftcards, and they should be here before Christmas. Next year, I am going to make sure I save the points up(surveys and mypoints) all year, to make it even better.
The thing that drives me nuts, is we almost always have to wait until the last minute. I do think with our move to the trailer will help next year be much less stressful.

we have been doing cash only for several years now... our budget is tight but we always seem to manage by buying thru out the year and not overdoing it.

I always use cash. If I buy a big ticket item and want to put it on a charge for warranty extention purposes, I do that and then immediately transfer the cash to the charge BEFORE it gets posted to my account. My hubby and I agree on a budget in October and then stick to it. If we have extra cash, then we buy eachother something.
