We talk so much about what we should get, where the good deals are, buying just for the kids vs buying for the adults as well........
Well I am curious,
What is your estimated total dollar amount for gifts this season?
Include everyone you have to buy for.

My rough draft is coming in around $800. I wonder if this is alot, average, or below average around here.
We also typically spend around $100 extra on a charity.

Last year we spent about $1900. That includes all immediate family, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, teachers, bus drivers, stockings, friends, neighbors, etc. Any Chritmas gifts.

25 bucks budgeted

actual:

mom's gift: $1 for gift bag. free yarn for her throw. $2 for sudoko books for her stocking.

stepdad's gift: $1 for gift bag. $10 for chocolate hedgehogs.

work gift exchange: $2 for wine bottle gift bags. 2 free bottles of wine left over from wedding.

everyone else: cards left over from last year, free. $6 for stamps.

We have $175 to do stockings for me, DH and DS and get 3 gifts for DS, as well as 1 or 2 gifts for the Christmas Eve gift swap with my FIL's family. We usually have $350 each year, as we use DH's 3rd paycheck at this time of year, but this year our car was in the shop, including getting 4 new tires, so bye bye to that budget! DH is getting holiday pay for Thanksgiving (he didn't work, but that was one of his days off for the week) so we decided to spend that $75 on clothes for the two of us, as we need them quite badly. I'm starting a Christmas club in January and buying clearance throughout the year for my family and DH's family.

Since everyone's situation is different, I think it's really hard to compare with others. I spend more than you do, and I'm sure a lot of people spend less...kwim?

Ours will be around $700 ~ $120 per kid x 4 (includes Santa gifts, stockings & gifts from us), then the balance spent on each other, DH family & my family. I tend to make most of my gifts so it helps keep the costs down

I have no idea, and I like it better that way. I shop all year and do not keep a tally.

I kind of go this route. As long as I'm not charging it, I'm pretty happy!

This was the topic of conversation at our house last night. DH and I will be doing for our siblings, parents, grandparents and some aunts. Plus ourselves, the three kids, and preschool teachers. I am TRYING to be frugal. Probably around $1,000 if I am really good.

The budget is a bit over as of right now, since I bought the girls the Rose Petal Cottage from Playskool and every accessory, and kept on shopping
