I have been meaning to order some modern cloth nappies as I did my sums and worked ou that if we want 2 more children, its cheaper by far to use cloth so I went on to the website last night and ordered 25 nappies and 6 wool covers (like pilchers.)

I got the nappies that can be used from newborn to 16kgs so well worth the money. My 15 month old DD is still only 10kgs so the nappies should fit for ages.

As I ordered in bulk, I also got 20% discount off my order and 2 free wool cover wraps.

All up I saved myself $176.20. What a bargain.

Just doing the sums on disposables and this is it:

$35 per packet of disposables which last a month.
$420 a year.
$840 for 2 years (some kids will toilet train at 2)
$1680 for 2 children over 2 years.

We got the cloth nappied for $550 which will be used for each child up until they are roughly 3 years old (due to size.)

All in all, I think we got ourselves a bargain.

I wanted to and I didn't. I just didn't manage to pull it off. It really bugs me too. I know it is cheaper and better for the environment and I still didn't manage to pull this one off.

My cloth diapers have been used on all 4 of my children and I can only imagine how much money I've saved using cloth . I'm still using cloth at night on my 2 1/2 year old, he's daytime potty trained, and my 10 month old is using the diapers her older brothers wore. Just a warning, it's very addicting! You'll find new reasons to buy cute new diapers . When we found out #4 was going to be a girl (she has 3 older brothers) I bought some girl colored fuzzi bunz for her, I just couldn't resist!

The online store has a layby system for 8 weeks so they work in with your finances.
As the mnappies are so popular, they won't be ready til January anyway. Lol

I love using cloth diapers! I use Fuzzi Bunz for my ds. They were expensive right at first....but I knew I wouldn't do the prefolds w/pins. They have more than paid for themselves & any kiddos I have after that---Free! Besides the cost of washing, etc.

The only time I use disposables are at night...Cloth leaks...in fact most mornings he wakes up with the disposables leaking! I've tried going up in a diaper size, but thats not helping much either.

Anyone have an idea on how to make cloth absorbent enough for nighttime? I'd love to stop buying disposables all together & putting them in the landfill!!

I'm about to have baby number 2 in March. I have thought about trying cloth diapers, but wonder if it is even worth if I did not bother with my first child. Due to the fact that I would not be re-using on a 3rd probably.

But, I also wonder about those poopy diapers. How do you rinse them before washing them in the wash?? I cringe a little just thinking about it! LOL

Have looked at the websites for cloth diapers and they can be VERY cute!
