at Walmart this Christmas season? It helped us so much in the past to pay for presents throughout the year. For me their plan backfired because I didn't get their credit card, but I do miss it.

YES!!!!

There is only one store left that does free layaway. Not sure if its a local chain, but its called Benny's, its kinda a hardware/everything store. They Still have free layaway, and from what I hear, there is NO room left in the stock room right now! A coworker's husband works there and he keeps having to clear out more space for more boxes. I hope they do really well this season and really show all those other places something!! In previous years at WAlmart on BF, the layaway line would be around the store. This year when I went in, the store was a ghost town. People are just DONE with them.

Doesn't Kmart still have layaway? Or Meijers? Or TJMaxx. Although TJmaxxs layaway was only 30 days, which isn't always very helpful. I haven't done a layaway in a long time. My husband doesn't like to do it like that. He likes to buy it as we can afford it.

I know you have to pay for KMart's layaway.

I should have remembered that. I thought there was this one day a year that they did free layaway, but that was a long time ago, and I worked there then. Maybe it was only for employees.
Well, I suppose they have to charge since people sometimes don't get their layaways out,and they have to restock. Walmart doesn't even have a layaway anymore do they?

Our Kmart still has layaway. They do charge a $5 layaway fee, but sometimes it is worth it in order to get everything you want before they run out.

I do!

Honestly- I think I spent $15 there this year on Christmas presents. I am with Happymom- I stopped giving them a lot of my business because we heavily relied on their layaway for Christmas (I would put one on when they first open the Christmas layaways in August)- it was so much easier to have everything on layaway and you have a few months to pay for it. Truthfully- even though it costs more- I gave most of my business to TRU (throughout the year I would pick up a gift card and get fuel perks with each $50 spent at the grocery store)- but we scaled back heavily this year for Christmas.

I do miss that this year too. I didn't spend as much there this year as I have in past years. I also noticed that our store wasn't as busy on Black Friday as they have been in the past several years. That will teach them.
