I cant remember the last time i went to the mall! as for other stores they are within walking distance from my work so I have to be careful at lunchtime. most weekends I wotn leave the house from friday everning till monday morning, I cant afford to buy junk and rather spend time with the kids at home.

I'm pretty good about not spending. I work full-time, and mostly just work thru lunch time, and once I get home, I don't leave the house. If I have to make a stop, it's usually to the grocery store or costco to get something we need. And on weekends, i pick one day, and do all my shopping in that one trip. I HATE driving, since I travel to work 30 miles each way everyday. I know that doesn't seem right, but traffic here is a killer so 30 miles can get more like an hour or more sometimes.

I used to be in the trap of going out pretty much every day and just shopping to shop. It got me in a LOAD of CC debt. So now I have designated days that I do groceries, and that is it. Carrying only cash helped a lot too.

Yeah, I feel this way too. We stayed home today and went for a walk. Really wanted to go to the mall, but I knew I would buy lunch and go use my Victorias Secrect Coupon. I really need a new Bra....

I live in a small town so getting to any major shopping store is a little bit of a drive. And with gas prices the way they are, I prefer to stay home to save the $$. My dd is 9 mo and my ds is 19 mo older and honestly sometimes it is more of a hassle going out than it is worth. We go to our church on Wed and Sun and my ladies bible study will be starting up on Tues am and I have my home based business. These all keep me interacting with adults, so I don't go too batty

I have to find other ways of entertaining myself cause spending money as a "hobby" is not an option with our budget....

If I get out, yes, I do spend money, but that's usually why I get out, because I need to buy something. I must save a lot of money by staying home so much!!

My dh has wanted me to track my purchases for the past few months. I find it very tedious to write down every purchase which I think has helped my spending. I used to write down 3-4 items a day and now I am down to once a day. There has also been days I haven't written down anything.

I found myself spending money too frequently, and decided to join the YMCA. Now, I go to the "Y" and exercise, swim, or let the kids play in the playground there. It has definately saved me money, and helped me shed a few baby pounds. I've also meta few other moms there. I also started trying to go to places like the library or a friend's house for a playdate. I find now that I still am able to get out but not spend money...until I see that huge garage sale as I'm driving... lol

I found when I had Evan I was buying a lot! Now with all three I don't go many places and when I go out I get what we need! Our problem is eatting out! If that could be stopped that would be great!

I am buying winter/fall clothes right now!
