The kids went back to school and DH went back to work!!!!! Had to send lunch money and pay for DD's dance lessons. They are due the first of the month. No extra's spent yesterday.

Will have to see about today's trip to get groceries. Should be easier without all 4 kids in tow...

Doing good! Passed up Starbucks and Panera today, and that was perfectly fine with me! I will send $6 to school with DD for the frog we got the class for Christmas (teacher wanted us to wait until after the holiday!) Doing pretty good!

Yesterday I needed an outing for all the kids on break in my house (our break doesn't end until the 7th! oh my), so we went to the indoor play area at the mall. I did not spend a thing! Even in the midst of great sales. I packed their lunches and didn't go into any store but the bookstore (where the kids each bought themselves a book, but they have their own allowance money Even when my sister informed me that one of the stores was going out of business, I stayed strong. And boy, do I LOVE a good going out of business sale, lol!

Today I plan on picking up a couple groceries. Yesterday I made a detailed shopping list, so I should be okay there and I have a dr appt so there will be a copay. Should be all approved expenses.

Happy to say I did not spend any money yesterday (Wed), I actually saved money by returning a few things for money back. Today is bill day but no other spending!!! And 2 good things happened in terms of earning more $$: my sister had a bunch of bottles (she is 21 need I say more) so we returned all of them and got $39.45 and my hubby had been given a lotto scratch off ticket and it was a $25 winner. So I am going to put those in the savings for an extra payment onto the credit card.

Yesterday was a good day!!! $15 on groceries for the week $5 to mail out 2 DVD's and a Book for Book Swap and DvD Swap so I will have credits once they are received. Plus I went to drop off 3 tubs at the consignment shop and I had a $42 check waiting for me there.

I love the spending freeze. I spent $100 at Target (for a month of supplies) and groceries for 2+ weeks yesterday which was $200. I planned out a monthly menu and developed a bi-weekly grocery list according to that menu. The only non-grocery item I bought was the notebook for the FTJ project.

Will be spending $20 today for Lydia to go to the doctor (again!!) at least I'll be able to use our flexible spending account to reimburse me.

I spent $50 on groceries yesterday...needed basicas as we have been traveling and didn't even have bread & milk...for us this was an inexpensive trip so I am ok with that...today I chose not to go to a playgroup tha would have cost us 20.00 and instead will take my dd's to the YMCA for free. Then I do need to pick up a prescription, think I can get in and out of target for only 4.00???? Help me be strong!!!!

Yesterday I paid off my Gap credit card ($45 for DS's winter wardrobe -- bought in December). I also went grocery shopping. I spent $44.45. I have a $100/week grocery budget, so I am doing well in that area. January is usually a good time of year to replenish my stockpile, so I am still going to take advantage of my Grocery Game deals this weekend. However, whatever I buy will fit into my family's new healthy eating lifestyle. No junk food! If the kids want cookies, I'll bake them! After all, I already have all of the ingredients. I will also not stockpile anymore health and beauty items or cleaning supplies. I'm all set on those for a long time. And of course, anymore grocery items bought will have to fit into my weekly grocery budget!

Today is a tough day for me. I always take a trip to the bookstore and Starbucks on Thursday. Maybe I should put a stack of magazines and books in the middle of the living room floor as a reminder that I do not need anything else to read.
