I am 10 days into our spending freeze (we started before you all, and plan to go for 30 days), and I just did some quick tallying this morning to get a handle where we are at, now that we are 1/3 of the way there.

Our grand total for the first 1/3 of the assignement, including gasoline for our vehicle, a box of diapers for my son, and all of our food and anything else we might have needed (minus our normal bills - utilities, credit cards, house payment, etc.) is:

$97.43

We are already noticing the effects... My husband and I sat down to do the bills last night and we had this money left over in our checking account (now mind you, not a lot compared to some of what you all have, but are living very tight, week to week), and we had to discuss what to do with it! Now we NEVER have that problem. EVER, EVER, EVER! It feels darn good!
