I feel your pain except for me it's so frustrating to shop, save $ and plan meals and then have my kids complain about eating whatever it is I cooked! it seems that no matter what it is, at least one of them has an issue with it *sigh*

Oh! I know exactly what you mean! I have one dd who is very picky, so we used to tell her that if she didn't like dinner, she could have a bowl of plain cheerios. Now that she's 10, she prefers to whip up something else for herself, and as long as it has a green veggie with it and is fairly healthy, I'll usually let her do it (as much as I'd prefer she just eat what I make). She actually enjoys cooking.

Admittedly at other times in frustration, I'll proclaim, "You get what you get, and don't throw a fit!"

as I have a spreadsheet with all the items from the supermarket that I buy with their cost beside them so I can see how much my shopping is going to cost me before i go to the store, I get dh to sit with me and tell me what he wants me to get I put it all in and then I say ok (we shop every two weeks) shopping is going to cost $550.00 this week were do we cut. He is like OMG and then looks at the list, all his junk gets cut out and we are back in budget. I do buy his drinks for work in bulk and he usually takes left overs to work but I make sure that if his 'junk' food is on sale then I buy him some so he doesn't feel left out. (I have a 'specials' allowance for this type of thing).
