I was doing so good too! But it was for a good cause I promise!
I had been asking Meghan for a year if she wanted to get her ears pierced. Over the last few months, she has been thinking about it. LOL SO on Saturday, out of nowhere, she says "Can we go to the mall and get my ears pierced?" I did't know what to do, and I was afraid if we didn't just go and do it, she might lose her nerve! So we went, and then we looked in gamestop. She found a gameboy game she wanted and it was on sale for 6.99. So I told her, "If you actually sit in the chair and get your ears done, I'll come back and buy it for you" Sure enough, I had to eat my words, and get her game.
SO I left the mall a bit lighter $$ wise, but not bad! I spent $21 on her earrings (the piercing was free) 6.99 on the game, and $15 for dinner.
I'm back on track though and havn't had another lapse. I can DO this!

Boy, you really wanted her ears pierced. If it was that important to you, why didn't you do it when she was a baby?

Its not THAT important to me. At least not the way you are implying. LOL
I wanted to pierce her ears as a baby, dh would't let me. In fact, he was VERY upset with me that I even suggested it. I compromised and we agreed that we would do it as soon as she could ask and understand what having her ears pierced would be.
My younger daughter had her ears pierced last year. She wanted to do it as all her friends had thier ears done. But when we went to do it, she got scared and cried, but eventually setteled down long enough for them to do it. I did't want my older dd to be left out or feel singled out because me and Samanta both have our ears done. So I asked her and she said maybe. I KNOW my daughter and I knew she wanted to do it, but was nervous because her sister made such a fuss about it. She wanted to do cheer in the fall so I told her a few weeks ago, that if she decided to do it, we needed to do it now so that her ears would be healed by the time cheer started. (we can't wear earrings at all during cheer season)
I did't coax her or push her, she made this descion on her own.

I wanted to get my DD's done when she was a baby and DH was against it as well. His thought was that it should be something she would look forward to when she got older. Newsflash noone looks forward to getting their ears pierced, they look forward to wearing earings. I didn't get them though, I mean his older sister is 31 and still doesn't have her ears pierced.
