Stevesgal's thread got me thinking about recession tips and I ran across this article that I enjoyed and thought I would pass it along. I thought it had some great tips.

Loved the article!
thanks,
I liked that he said to pay minimum and to save your 3 to 6 months ...
bc, with dave ramsey ( i love him! ), but realistically,
If you have only $1000 saved for your emergency fund.
that won't last 2 weeks!
I am modifying his plan, here is what i am doing:
i am saving to pay off my car.
that will leave me with my only debt: my student loan.
I plan to keep saving to build up my 6 months of income in my savings, while paying off my st. loan as much as possible.
but, you should always PAY YOURSELF FIRST!

That's a very good article. Thank you for posting it.

I have definitely switched my focus to building my savings rather than eliminating my debt for the current time being. Once I get that savings to a comfortable level then I'll again start chipping away at my debt.

Thanks I hadn't given as much thought to saving like that. We have a little savings for a small rainy day but nothing for a flood. I have always thought that paying off the cc was a better idea. My dh and I will have to give this some thought.

Love the article. Thank you so much! I am on overdrive to get our family ready for the worst. I am going to stockpile on awesome sales, maybe pay down our debt a little slower in order to build up or savings and obviously spend less on frivolous things that we really don't need or have to do!
