Well, it has been 3 weeks since we turned off our cable, and I am happy to post that it has been less painful and more positive than I could have imagined!! My kids wandered around for the first few days, "There is NOTHING to do!!!", but then, they started playing with legos, making up games involving play swords, capes, etc...wanting to do art projects, etc and I am SO pleased. I even think their smart-aleck backtalking is becoming a thing of the past..they do not hear it constantly on tv. We get our news on the internet, so we are ALL happy to be tv free!! YEAH!

I was thinking about holding off on us getting our cable up and running when we move- I think my DH would be upset to have the internet instead of tv though!

It takes a bit of time but you really do adjust!

I got rid of our cable 2 years ago and just haven't gotten it back. I miss it but can't justify spending that much money.

We just got rid of cable this month. There was never anything on that would interest me during the times I was able to watch TV, so what's the point?

We have been renting DVD's from our library, Netflix or neighbors and don't miss cable at all.
