I completeley agree with queenboxtop! It forces you, myself included, to really prioritize your finances, as well as re-think your needs vs. wants.

Granted, it will make people really think about wants and needs but..
What dose it do to the really poor Americans thay are right now decieding if they should by Milk or Bread for their children, because maybe they are living on minimum wage, or a single mom. We who have and can deciede between the sale at Kohls or Michael's are very lucky already.

Recessions are great for people like teachers, as long as the popualtion is there, we don't lose our jobs. Recessions eventually lower prices, like housing prices, and make it possible for us to get ahead. I also think it is good for people to learn to live with less, the excess spending I see is disgusting and sometimes a reality check is good for folks.
